Student Recognition Programs
TIMBER CREEK STUDENT RECOGNITION PROGRAMS
Student achievement in all areas of academics as well as the fundamental foundations of citizenship is recognized in a number of ways throughout the year. Below outlines the recognition programs at Timber Creek Elementary.
End of Year Awards Program
These will be scheduled and held by the teachers on each grade level
Math Master Students that master their math facts will be recognized as follows: · KDG 0-5 Addition Facts · 1st 0-10 Addition Facts · 2nd 0-18 Subtraction Facts · 3rd 0-12 Multiplication Facts
Rockin Readers Pre K Students that know both Upper and Lower case letters KDG Mastered their Sight Word List 1st Graders that Mastered their Sight Word List (200 Words) 2nd Graders that Mastered their Sight Word List (300 Words) and 100 Phrases
AR Award 1st -6th Grade Students that meet their goal for all 4 nine weeks with an 85% accuracy score will be recognized
Above & Beyond
AR Award 1st- 6th Graders that meet and exceed their AR Goal for all 4 nine weeks and exceed that goal by 10% with an 85% accuracy will be recognized.
MPS (District) Certificate of Achievement for Reading Grades PreK-6; 50 to 99 books read.
State Reading Certificate Grades PreK-6; 25 to 49 books read.
Superintendents Award for Excellence in Reading(Certificate Only) Grades PreK-6; 100 or more books read this year.
Sequoyah Award Students in Grades 3-6 that have read 6 or more of the Sequoyah List selections will be recognized with a certificate.
Reflections Award Winners Students that were selected from each grade level to compete at the district competition will receive a Dog Tag.
Spelling Bee Participants and Winners will be recognized.
Science Olympics 2nd – 6th Grade Students that represented TCE at the District Competition will receive a Dog Tag for their participation. Place Winners will also be recognized.
Archery 4th, 5th & 6th Graders that represented TCE in the State Archery Meet will receive a Dog Tag for their participation. Place winners will also be recognized.
Track 5th & 6th Graders that represented TCE in the District Track Meet will receive a Dog Tag for their participation. Place winners will also be recognized.
Waterford Grades Pre K-2; Students that make the most growth will be recognized.
IXL Grades 3-6; Students that make the most growth will be recognized
STAR Grades K-6; Students that make the most gains will be recognized.
Principal’s Honor Roll Given each semester to all 4th-6th students that do not have any grades lower than an “A”, “B”, or “S”.
Superintendents Honor Roll Given each semester to all 4th -6th students that do not have any grades lower than an “A” or “S” for the Semester Grades.
Outstanding STEAM Student Grades K-6; Given to students that show interest, innovation, and continued improvement in collaboration, design, and problem-solving skills through STEAM activities.
Outstanding PE Student Grades K-6; Given to students that show sportsmanship, are cooperative and respectful, an active leader and participant in class activities & enthusiastic about PE.
Outstanding Art Student Grades K-6; Given to students that demonstrate consistent art growth, positive and enthusiastic attitude, respect for others and consistent effort.
Outstanding Music Student Grades K-6; Given to students that demonstrate consistent musical growth, positive and enthusiastic attitude, respect for others and consistent effort.
Choir 5th & 6th Grade students that participated in the choir will receive a dog tag.
Library Volunteer Students that volunteer in the Library.
Perseverance Award Grades PreK-6; (1 or 2 per homeroom): This student goes above and beyond to achieve academically. They have demonstrated an outstanding attitude, effort and participation in the subject area. They show extra effort and have persevered with their academics to be a successful even if school work is a challenge.
Classroom Achievement Grades 2-6; Subject area recognition (1 or 2 per homeroom): These awards are given to students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement, attitude, effort and participation in the subject area. Students recognized do not necessarily have to have obtained the highest grade in the particular subject area.
Overall Grade Level Achievement Grades 4-6; Subject area recognition (1 or 2 per grade level): These awards are given to students over all students in the grade level who have demonstrated outstanding achievement, attitude, effort and participation in the subject area. Students recognized do not necessarily have to have obtained the highest grade in the particular subject area.
Scholarship Award Grades PreK-6 (one boy and one girl); This student goes above and beyond to achieve academically. This student shows extra effort with regard to academics. This student completes all work, is prepared for class, meets and exceeds the standards of learning. Excellent quality of work.
Citizenship Award Grades PreK-6 (one boy and one girl); This student supports and follows the school procedures and practices. They are respectful of rules, property and other students. They use good manners and judgment. They exhibit a positive attitude.
Leadership Award Grades PreK-6 (one boy and one girl); This student involves others in class in a positive way. They set a positive example for others, take initiative in and outside of class and contributes to our community of learners.
Masonic Award Sixth Grade Boy and Girl—Highest Honor This student embodies all of the qualities of those described within the Citizenship, Scholarship and Leadership Award.
